Cravings and Utah Eateries
My friend Kristin and I were both pregnant with our second children at the same time and we both used to get mad cravings for food at lunch time. We would sit with Max and Nikolai in tow and try to come up with someplace to go eat that would satisfy these cravings. After going through every restaurant we could think of in the Alexandria area and turning them all down, we would inevitably turn to naming Provo eateries from our college days. Tons of them sounded good and we would be salivating by the end of our convo but not any closer to solving our problem with a restaurant in Alexandria. So here I am in Utah and much of my day revolves around hitting at least one of these eateries a day -- need to tank up while at the oasis as we go back to VA on Thursday. So here's a list of my favorite restaurants here in Utah (feel free to add yours to the comments):
1) CAFE RIO!!!!
2) Guru's
3) Gandalfo's
4) Los Hermanos
5) Jamba Juice
6) Rumbi Grill
7) Octavios
8) Magelbys Fresh
9) BYU Creamery (Earnestly chocolate anyone?)
10) Tucanos Brazilian Grill
11) Pizza Factory
12) The Golden Corral (ah yeah for all you can eat buffets)
13) Old Spaghetti Factory
14) Nielson's Custard
Warning: Discussion About Poop Ahead
Nikolai went poop in the toilet today!! I'm checking my email and hear him yell, "Mom, I have to go to the bathroom." Since he tells me this all the time before he goes in his diaper I yell back okay and don't think anything more about it. Then Aunt Holly says, "Mary, come look, come look." Here comes Nikolai shuffling across the floor toward the bathroom with his shorts and diaper around his ankles and a big grin on his face. I swoop him up and run him to the toilet where he proceeds to poop, giggling the entire time. He of course got lots of praise and some candy :). I guess he's trying to tell me its time to potty train him -- can't put it off any longer.

Changing Diapers in Church
This past Sunday we went to church with my in-laws in SLC. Nikolai was stinky and asked us to change his diaper. We told him to go out and lay down and we would change him. So, Nikolai walks out of the pew, lies down in the middle of the aisle as sacrament meeting is starting and waits for Steve to change him. Steve stepped out and after a minute of trying to explain that he didn't mean in the middle of the chapel, they went out and finished business out of sight of prying eyes :).

A Conversation About Moving and Obedience
M to N: "How was nursery today? Who was there?"
N: long pause, "Max wasn't there."
M: "Oh. . .yeah, Max moved." (followed by long discussion about living in another state like grandparents and flying on planes to see each other)
N: "Max moved? cause he was not obedient."
M: laughing outloud "No, he moved cause his daddy got a new job."
I guess my explanation about grandparents, different states and airplane travel didn't work. Seems like Nikolai thinks of moving more like a long timeout.

Events of Late
Cracks me up
1) A week ago, Nikolai hurt his toe, fell to the ground grabbing it and whimpering:
"I hurt my toe. I need to ichat with Nana and Poppa. I need to ichat!"
2) Nikolai looked at me across the table today and said,
"Mommy, save the beetles!"
Uh, okay.
