Playdough and Olives

Doesn't that title just sound yummy :). Nikolai and I made playdough this morning together. It was a lot of fun and gave us something to do besides going outside in the heat and humidity. Here are some pics of our green concoction.

These pics are of Nikolai eating one of his favorite foods - olives. Yep, that's right - olives. He thinks it's great fun to stick them on his fingers and then eat them. I guess he did get some Wilson genes after all. His two other favorite foods are hummus on pitas and Ezekial bread. Of course he also loves ice cream (it only took one taste for him to be hooked), but we try to eat that less than every day :).

Beached Whales etc. .

Okay, here are two more pics my friend Marianne sent me from the beach. . .since we don't have very many of the 3 of us, you are actually getting to see these despite my 9 months beached whale body.

More Pics from OBX

The Outer Banks

So we took our last vacation before the stork arrives and it was great!! We went down to Corolla, North Carolina and stayed in a beach house with a bunch of our friends. Nikolai wasn't too sure about the ocean water but he loved the sand and the heated pool (as is evidenced by the photos). His favorite protection from the sun was his dad's hat and my sunglasses. We were so happy for the week in the sun and are just glad that we didn't come home with a new baby as a souvie. I'll post more pics after this post.

New Haircut

Nikolai loves his new haircut. So do we!

Miracle Chair

This post is for my cousin Marci who wanted to see the miracle craigslist chair :). Enjoy!!

Nikolai Singing (Kind of)

Nikolai loves to sing. His two favorites are I'm a Child of God and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. He can sing the chorus all by himself until you put a camera in his face and then he gets a little sidetracked.

"Daddy Towel"

After a shower today Nikolai kept asking to have his towel like his dad's . . so here was the end result and he was very happy;

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Our friends the Ellises hosted a Cinco de Mayo (thank you Corona Beer for this wonderful holiday) party tonite. It was a blast!!! They even had a pinata. Nikolai loved trying to break it open. At the end we let him pretend to be a pinata.

Visits, Withdrawal, Etc. . .

Well, we are going through withdrawal from having Nanna here for the last week. Always depressing when family leaves. She came, she saw, she conquered. Seriously. . . she turned the house upside down (in a good way). She moved Steve's office downstairs and turned his old office into the new nursery (see pic). I LOVE it!!! She moved things around, cleaned them up, painted, did laundry, organized. . . And that is just the beginning of what she did. Come back!!!

The morning that she left, I tried not to mention her name hoping that Nikolai wouldn't notice she was gone -- yeah right! He turns to me at breakfast and says, "Love Nanna." He is going through some definite attention withdrawal.

Odds and Ends:
1) Here is a picture of cute little Nikolai sleeping when he was sick last week. I love the pic. Nothing so cute as a sleeping child.

2) Nikolai loves to iChat. I was reminded of this today when he pulled me to the computer and said, "iChat Uncle Ben." What a different world that a 2 year old would even know about iChat. Funny.
