So the Hales Family was all watching the rerecorded BYU game on Saturday morning. Nikolai seemed a little more interested in the crowd than the game but Steve was doing his best to indoctrinate him in the ways of cougar sports. At one point during a time out they cut to the crowd and showed two 3 or 4 year old boys dancing in the stands. Five or so minutes later we say to Nikolai:
"Nikels, some day you are going to play basketball at BYU and we are going to sit in the crowd and cheer for you and you're going to be so good!"
He looked back and said, "No! I wanna dance!!"
You can imagine the look on Steve's face. Hilarious!

I CAN imagine that look on Steve's face and just spent 5 minutes replaying it I enjoyed it so much. Oh, the delight that Steve's son wants to be a dancer!!! :)
This is so funny. I know what you mean though...Matt would have a complete fit if Tommy said something like that! I think as mothers we see them get excited about things and then 10 minutes later move on to something else. So for comments like these we laugh and move on but the Dads freak out a bit.
I always knew you two were built of the hottest dance moves. Can't wait to be sitting next to you as fellow season ticket holders, watching both of our boys ball it up, guess Whit and I have some work to do, haha. -Ev
That, is a great story. I think Steve would be proud to have the first male cougarette.
Mary-
All of these stories about Nikolai crack me up! I love reading about his wild imagination and love of dancing :) what a hoot!
I hope you're recording these stories in some kind of a journal for Nikolai. Priceless.
I'm ready for a "Why the BCS is horrible" post by Steve. Or a "Why BYU should move to the PAC 10" post. Or even a BYU bball post would be acceptable. How about the Beavs getting ripped with the Emerald bowl, are you serious?!!! -Ev
I loved the story Mary - too funny! One day Annie told me I could go to BYU and watch her play volleyball...she then said she was going to live with my sister Mary. While it wasn't basketball, it sure wasn't the dance squad either :) I love the funny things they come up with! Hope you guys are doing well - have a Merry Christmas!
Girlfriend, it's been a month of fruitless clicks on to your blog. Please, give me somethin'.
