RSV and has come to the Hales household (well, actually just to Luke and me). Here is how you can tell:
1) The Dr. said so
2) The kitchen has looked like this for over a week:
3) I think that is also how my lungs and sinuses must look - at least that is how they feel.
4) We've been through 4 boxes of Puffs with lotion - working on the 5th.
5) Half of those boxes are still sitting around the house in the form of crumpled up, used tissues that haven't made it into the garbage yet -- "Yucky" as Nikolai says
6) Nikolai's drink of choice right now is herbal tea - the only thing he's seen his mom drink for a week - that's right, "Mom, I NEED a cup of tea."
7) If you've dropped by two days in a row (you would have to be insane), you would think it was groundhogs day. No you're not batty, yes this is the same pair of pj bottoms and the same bathrobe I've had on all week.
8) I've coughed up enough phlegm and blown out enough snot for a small country. Seriously, where does it all come from?
Now if you actually read all that complaining you deserve some silver linings so here they are:
1) One of my marvelous friends took Nikolai all morning on Saturday so I was able to rest. Thank you Mar!
2) Sweet Steve pretty much took Friday off to watch the boys as I lay blowing my nose all day on the couch.
3) Another fabulous friend brought me two kinds of soup yesterday which was heaven sent because all those dishes you saw in the pic above have been like that all week. They didn't get like that anytime in the past couple days -- I have not been cooking! Thank you Kris -- I even had soup for breakfast this morning and it was delicious!!!
4) And yet another amazing friend came and photocopied all the RS newsletters and photo directories and is taking them to church for me so that "I" can fulfill my responsibilities. Thank you Kamae!!
5) I can put it on my blog. Everything is better when you can blog about it!
So what I'm saying is that all this mucous, filth, exhaustion etc. .makes me feel pretty lucky. It makes me realize how many fabulous people are in my life. Thank you for helping take care of me! Don't know what I would do without you guys!

I haven't been sick all winter - maybe you'll catch what I've got - good luck!
so sorry, friend! get well soon!
Sorry to hear you've been under the weather - get well soon!
Mary,
I am so sorry about the RSV. That is so yucky! My worst fear right now is contacting that. I hope we can keep it at bay. I wish I was there to bring you some soup or take your kids for you! Thats no fun. Get some rest and get better :)
Mary,
I feel your pain darling, I had that crap (and a little more) for over 6 weeks. The only thing you can really do to get rid of it is sleep as much as possible. I couldn't believe how much I slept, and yet it still hung on for a lifetime.
Once you can breath out of both nostrils, you will think you are in heaven.
What you need is some of my chicken soup with tons of garlic! I wish I could teleport myself!! Sorry baby.
Hi Mary - I have a question for you and was wondering if you could email me? LaurelHWalker (at) gmail (dot) com.
Hope you guys are feeling better!
mary! i have accidentally been neglecting your blog...and i missed out on so much! i love your haircut! and i'm so sorry about the RSV. can't wait to see you tomorrow!
Mar- Sorry Couz! I would come and gladly do those dishes for you in a heartbeat to get out of this cold Rocky Mtn weather. Your country sounds more and more appealing everyday. Especially in the winters.
I hate to say this Mary, but for the past week I have been sick as a dog and I think I might have to blame it on your blog! Can we get a new post?
Hope you guys are feeling better!!
